Chaos training is a modality of strength training that incorporates elements of instability and chaos such as unstable surfaces, shifting resistance, or other unpredictable forces which the body must contend with. Some training modalities that would fit within the umbrella term “chaos training” would include balance training, offset load training, sand bag training, perturbation training, instability training, etc…
This type of training is great for creating greater stabilization in the joints, which is why its often used as prehab and rehab. It’s also been used extensively to increase proprioception and to improve exercise form.
